A march, five shows, and rally weekend

Worth knowing

Boone Town Council holds a special meeting Monday, Oct. 19, at 5pm at the town-owned lot at 155 WYN Way. The town is asking to rezone the 1.597-acre site from R1A to conditional district R1 for a town facility, and neighbors and other attendees can give feedback and raise concerns.

Council has also canceled its regular Nov. 11 and Nov. 25 meetings for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. A special meeting on Wed, Nov. 18, at 9am at 1500 Blowing Rock Rd takes up the business from both.

Boone's Burnett Sisters Band says its album Easy Come, Easy Go is on the Recording Academy's consideration ballot for Best Bluegrass Album. A spot on the ballot is not a nomination. Hear it on On Rotation, and watch their listing on the bands page for local shows.
