“The Arkansaw Bear” is a children's musical produced by the theatre arts department at Lees-McRae College. Based on a 19th-century children’s book by Albert Bigelow Paine, the musical follows a young girl named Tish. Tish is struggling with a reality she doesn’t understand: Her beloved grandfather is on his deathbed. Saddened and bewildered, she runs to her special tree and wishes upon a star. Her wish brings her to a world of wonder and fantasy, where she meets the world’s greatest dancing…
