The North Carolina Community Foundation awarded Disaster Relief and Resilience Scholarships to 14 graduating high school seniors from seven western North Carolina counties, including Watauga, who had their higher education plans affected by Hurricane Helene. The program is providing $250,000 in renewable scholarship funding to the recipients.
