A dozen races got the same questions from the Watauga Democrat. We put every name, and a link to every answer, in one place.
Early voting opens today in Watauga, Ashe and Avery counties, and it runs through Saturday, Oct. 31.
A dozen races on the ballot got the same set of questions from the Watauga Democrat, and each candidate had 250 words to answer. They include U.S. House District 5, N.C. Senate District 47, N.C. House Districts 87 and 93, District Court Judge in District 35, and the Watauga sheriff, commissioner, clerk of court, school board and soil and water races. We are not summarizing the answers. They belong to the people who asked, so read them there.
We put every name on the ballot for those races on our voting page, with a link to the Democrat's questionnaire under each one. The early voting sites and their hours are on the same page, along with the photo ID rules and the dates that still matter. Who's running, and where to vote early.
The same page also lists the sheriff, commissioner, school board, clerk and court races for Watauga, Ashe and Avery, collapsed by county so you can open just yours. Your county's races. Your sample ballot, in the State Board's registration lookup, shows exactly which ones you will see.
