Well, That Was A Game

Definitely A Game.

On a clear and chill November day, the App State Mountaineers and the Georgia State Panthers played a game that quickly wore the spirit of assiduous notetaking down.

There were one or two early moments of flair from App — there was a play action pass in the first quarter that had the impact of a trick play on Georgia State that got App a TD, and there was a two-pass actual trick play in the second that got App on the board as well — but that couldn’t redress App being unable to do much of anything on third down throughout most of the game, and there was a stretch right before half — pick 6, three and out, another TD for Georgia — that signaled the beginning of the end of the game. There was maybe a flicker of something in the third — Henry Hasselbeck reasserting App’s presence briefly with a pair of runs — but, alas, it was just a flicker, and, much like autumn as a whole, all we were treated to was a dying of the light.
