The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for areas including Independence, Lansing, Laurel Springs, Mouth of Wilson and Troutdale. The storm was moving southeast at 30 mph with expected wind gusts up to 60 mph, which could damage roofs, siding and trees.
