Final push. Today is the day. All of that motivating stuff. Seriously — go vote.

Polls are open from 6:30am to 7:30pm. If you are in line at 7:30, you vote.

You vote at your assigned precinct today, unlike during early voting. Find yours with the State Board's Voter Search tool. The Watauga elections office says no polling places have changed for Election Day.

Bring a photo ID. App State student and employee IDs are approved through Dec. 31, 2026. Forgot yours? You can go get it and come back to vote a regular ballot. Or vote a provisional ballot and bring an acceptable ID to the county elections office by noon Tuesday, Nov. 10. If you cannot show one at all, fill out a Photo ID Exception Form at the polls.

Voter registration is not available today, with narrow exceptions for people who became eligible after the Oct. 9 deadline. For everyone else it ended with early voting on Saturday. Students can be registered at their campus address or their home address, and can vote only once.

Mail ballots must reach the county board of elections by 7:30pm today. A postmark does not count, so a ballot dropped in a mailbox now is too late. You can drop yours off at the county board of elections office until 7:30pm.

Results for Watauga, Ashe and Avery start posting at 7:30pm at left917.net/vote.
