Teacher Pay Rising on Both Sides of the State Line: Tennessee Sets $50,000 Minimum, North Carolina Close Behind

Tennessee has established a $50,000 minimum salary for teachers statewide, including in Johnson County near the North Carolina border, effective this fall. North Carolina has also passed legislation to raise teacher pay, bringing the state close to Tennessee's new minimum.
