Cooperative Extension in Ashe and Watauga counties is hosting an on-farm training workshop in Helton on Oct. 7 for new and small-farm operators interested in shared-use tillage and cover-crop equipment. The extension office now offers two-wheel tractors available for rent to local farmers as part of efforts to address economic challenges facing small farms in the region.
