The National Park Service announced the completion of a rehabilitation project covering 75 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina. The project, funded by the Great American Outdoors Act, cost more than $100 million.

Seventy-five miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway just got a hundred-million-dollar overhaul, the biggest road project on this stretch in decades. The National Park Service finished it this fall with money from the Great American Outdoors Act. The pavement you drive on up there is brand new and the shoulders are stable. The Parkway is how most of us get through these mountains without falling apart, and the road had been crumbling for years. Go drive it while it lasts.
