Appalachian State University is transitioning to Canvas, an online learning management system that will be adopted across all UNC System institutions. The switch will begin during summer 2026 sessions and is expected to be completed by summer 2027. Students and faculty have expressed concerns about the transition, describing aspects of the new platform as cumbersome.
