Officials highlight Opioid Settlement Program results as public comment spotlights veteran needs

Avery County commissioners heard year-end reports from four nonprofits and health providers that received funding from the county's opioid settlement program during an Aug. 3 meeting. The county distributed $215,000 in opioid settlement money to these organizations this fiscal year.
