Hyper-local news & culture
No algorithm. Just word of mouth.
left917 is the High Country's independent read: local news, music, culture, and what's on, all in one place. No app, no login, no ads. And we're writing our own stuff now, not just rounding up everyone else's. Putting on an event? Share your calendar and we'll keep it on the air. Saw a flyer for something that isn't here? Send us the photo.

Freeze Watch. It's October in the mountains and it gets cold, shocking no one who lives here. Showers before 9am, then sunny with a high near 47 and gusts to 35 mph. Late tonight through 9am Sunday it could hit 29. Bring the tender plants in and cover what won't fit. The watch.
Rally day
Two No Kings: Vote Early rallies today, in Jefferson and Boone. Times, places, and where you can early vote are in today's Daily Update.
Flash
The Flash wall is live. Every piece of art Birdie has drawn for left917 hangs in one place, kept on the air by Rat King Studio. Tap one to read the story it came with.
Bands
The new bands page is on the air, built in partnership with Shred Boone to lift up the High Country music scene. Every band with a show coming up is on it, and a tap on a name pulls up all their dates.
Missing a band? Get it on the dial. Add your act with your genre, hometown, a sentence about you and a logo. An editor reads every one before it goes up. Run a venue that isn't on left917? Send us your calendar so your shows land on the page.
