North Carolina's 5th Congressional District encompasses 10 northwestern counties including Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Caldwell, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Watauga and Wilkes, as well as parts of Guilford County including most of Greensboro. The district is one of 14 congressional districts in the state and elects a single representative to the U.S. House.
