What the Bands Page Is For

left917 is building the list of North Carolina bands, High Country shows first.

Music is how a town remembers. A song ties a night to a feeling, and a room of strangers into a crowd. Years later you can still tell someone exactly where you were. The High Country makes a lot of it, and the people making it are the ones you pass on King Street. We want to give that scene the space it deserves, and lift it.

That is the job of the Bands page. It collects North Carolina acts, as many as we can find, and ties their shows to the venues we carry. Full bands, solo acts and DJs all count. If you make original music or put on shows, you belong here.

Right now the focus is the High Country. An act from Raleigh or Asheville belongs on the page if it plays here, and so does one that has never played here at all. The list is statewide on purpose. If there is enough interest, the coverage will be too.

Lifting a scene takes all three pieces at once. The act gets heard. The venue gets a crowd. The show gets found.

Every act is approved by an editor before it appears. There are no profile pages and no followers. An act gets a name, a line about the music, and a link to its next show.

The first acts to join on their own this week were Ellie K, Hot Tub Sandwich and Deuel from Boone, Emerson Bruno and the Undercurrents from Raleigh, Alla Prima from Asheville, and Proxima System from Hickory. Thank you. They are on the page now.

We would also love for acts to share their music through On Rotation drops, like Ellie K's. If you want to put a track on the air, tell us when you join.

Make music? Band, solo act or DJ, join the dial. Run a venue we don't carry yet? Send us your calendar. An act that says "nothing scheduled" just means we haven't seen a show for it yet.
