The farmers market is being considered for a national award, which means somebody outside Watauga is finally noticing what we already know. The market has been holding steady through years when farmers markets everywhere were folding, and vendors have stuck it out on Saturday mornings selling actual food to actual neighbors. If they win this thing, it is not because some national board discovered us. It is because we showed up.
