Blue Ridge Conservancy has acquired 60 acres of forested land and transferred it to NC State Parks for inclusion in Mount Jefferson State Natural Area. State Parks designated the property as "critical." The land borders the natural area on the west side and contains the headwaters of Little Naked Creek.
