USGS: Lithium in Carolinas Could Replace Imports for a Century or More

The U.S. Geological Survey estimates that the southern Appalachian region contains approximately 1.43 million metric tons of recoverable lithium oxide. According to the agency, this amount could replace more than 200 years of U.S. lithium imports at current consumption levels.
