Results tonight
Polls close at 7:30pm. Then our election map fills in, county by county, across all 100 North Carolina counties as the State Board reports, with Watauga, Ashe and Avery front and center. Bookmark it and watch with us. Everything is unofficial until the county canvass on Nov. 13.
Voting
It's Election Day. Go. Polls are open 6:30am to 7:30pm at your assigned precinct, and anyone in line at 7:30 still votes. Bring a photo ID and a jacket, it's 54 by closing. Tips for Election Day.
The Watauga Board of Elections met Monday night and approved poll workers and absentee envelopes for today.
16,187 Watauga voters already voted early in person, 23% more than the whole 2022 early vote. 44% were unaffiliated, 32% Democrats, 23% Republicans. Unaffiliated is the biggest bloc, and nobody can say how it breaks. Republicans were 14% of ballots on opening day and 31% on the last. Party is registration.
