A flood advisory was in effect for portions of the North Carolina High Country, including Alleghany, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin counties, as well as Grayson County in southwest Virginia until 6 a.m. EDT on July 13. The advisory warned of minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
